Location

Low Tatras mountain range stretches through charming valleys of Váh and Hron rivers in the length of almost 100 km. Its highest peaks are Ďumbier (2043 m), Chopok (2024 m) and Dereše (2004 m). At present day, Low Tatras are the second most visited mountains in Slovakia. Nevertheless they retain its uniqueness and richness of flora and fauna. They are home to many protected species of plants and animals.

Tále's location stretching out under the southern slopes of Chopok and Ďumbier peaks allows for a varied year-round use for leisure purposes. The south side of Chopok region was a preferred destination of many famous Slovak writers, painters and composers. The Empress Maria Theresa also chose this location as their place of relaxation. The scenic beauty of nature and its diversity have beneficial effects on the region to this day.

Tourist variety of Low Tatras region allows for year-round use for active leisure and regeneration. Besides winter sports the region provides a wide range of other options to enrich the leisure time. The valley is a starting point of many beautiful hiking trails and is famous for Jaskyňa Mŕtvych netopierov (The Dead Bats Cave) and Bystrianska Cave.
