Low Tatras mountain range stretches through charming valleys of Váh and Hron rivers in the length of almost 100 km. Its highest peaks are Ďumbier (2043 m), Chopok (2024 m) and Dereše (2004 m). At present day, Low Tatras are the second most visited mountains in Slovakia. Nevertheless they retain its uniqueness and richness of flora and fauna. They are home to many protected species of plants and animals.

Tále's location stretching out under the southern slopes of Chopok and Ďumbier peaks allows for a varied year-round use for leisure purposes. The south side of Chopok region was a preferred destination of many famous Slovak writers, painters and composers. The Empress Maria Theresa also chose this location as their place of relaxation.
